Pre-teens and teens entering grades 7 + are eligible to apply to our Future Counselor Program. Future counselors participate in the same fun activities as our younger campers, but serve as leaders and helpers for our younger groups. To participate in the future counselor program you must be in good academic standing at a local school and submit a short paragraph explaining why you would make a great camp counselor.
Our future counselors gain great experience working with smaller children and upon successful completion of the program will receive a letter of recommendation from St. Johns Day Camps. Future counselors are welcome to use us as reference for any potential babysitting jobs as well.
Our Summer 2018 Future Counselors will work with campers to plan a end of week celebration each Friday based on the week’s theme. Time for planning will be allotted each day and a budget will be provided. On Thursday, future counselors will provide the site director with a list of materials needed and an itinerary for the festivities.
This program is a great way to enable your child — who still needs summer enrichment, but may feel too old for camp — to do something meaningful, productive, and FUN!
What to Bring: Lunch, comfortable clothing and shoes.
